The Santo Niño at 500 pilgrimage team successfully conducted its pilgrim visit at the Diocese of Palo in Leyte on December 1-8, 2019.
It was led by Rev. Fr. Isabelo A. Carloman, Jr., OSA and with the help of volunteers from Cebu. They visited parishes and chapels in Leyte namely Holy Child Parish and Immaculate Conception Chapel both in Villaba, San Vicente Ferrer Chapel and Holy Child Parish both in Tabango, St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Merida, Holy Spirit Chaplaincy and St. Augustine Parish both in Isabel, St. Francis Xavier Parish and St. Michael the Archangel Parish both in Palompon, and St. John the Baptist Parish and Holy Family Parish both in Kananga.
The team arrived at the port of Palompon where they were welcomed with Sinulog dance and drum and bugle corps, and by a group of devotees and parishioners who eagerly waited. A motorcade to St. Francis Xavier Parish followed where a mass and veneration to the image of Santo Niño were held.
The pilgrimage team arrived at San Vicente Ferrer Chapel on December 2 and was warmly welcomed by the students and parishioners with unwavering faith despite the unpleasant weather due to typhoon Tisoy. It did not dampen the crowd from joining the ceremony with the image of Santo Niño. The pilgrimage was a strengthening of faith with the support of Archbishop Forrosuelo Du, DD of the Archdiocese of Palo.
