Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Sur

The Santo Niño at 500 pilgrimage team conducted a pilgrim visit of the image of Santo Niño in the provinces of Misamis Occidental and Zamboanga del Sur on January 25 to February 4, 2020.

The pilgrimage team was headed by Rev. Fr. Aladdin P. Luzon, OSA and Rev. Fr. Isabelo Carloman, OSA with the volunteers from Cebu. They arrived at the port of Ozamiz City on January 25 and was warmly welcomed by the devotees and parishioners with drum and bugle corps, Sinulog dancers and the priests of Immaculate Conception Cathedral.

There were processions and masses to various areas that were part of the itinerary. The devotees were also given the time to venerate the image of Santo Niño. They also participated in the overnight vigils in honor of the Santo Niño.

A pontifical mass was presided by the Bishop of the Diocese of Pagadian Bishop Ronald I. Lunas, DD, STL at the Sto. Niño Parish in Vicenzo Sagun and Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Poblacion Guipos both in Zamboanga del Sur on January 30 and February 1, respectively.

The last motorcade headed to Sinanduloy Cultural Center in Tangub City, Misamis Occidental where the team was welcomed with ceremonies. The people venerated the image and attended the mass before the image was travelled back to Cebu City.

The pilgrim image visited areas in the cities of Ozamiz and Tangub, Misamis Occidental. They visited the Shrine of Birhen sa Cotta, Fuerte De La Concepcion Y Del Triunfo on JP Rizal Avenue, Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral on Burgos St., St. Vincent de Paul Quasi-Parish and Ozamiz City National High School both in Barangay Tinago, Tobias Feleciano Faith Hospital, Inc. and Misamis University and San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish (Chinese Catholic Parish) both in Barangay Aguada, Ozamiz City Hall on Don Anselmo St., Bernad Ave., Misamis Institute of Technology (Maritime Training Center) in Barangay Bañadero, Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology in Barangay Bañadero, Mayor Hilarious A. Ramiro Sr., Medical Center in Mindog Maningcol and Sinanduloy Cultural Center.

The team also visited areas in Zamboanga del Sur Province particularly San Isidro Labrador Parish in San Jose, Aurora, Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Tukuran, Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish and Margosatubig General Hospital both in Margosatubig, Sr. Sto. Niño Parish in Vincenzo Sagun, Municipal Hall of Guipos, Guipos National High School, 53^rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion, Camp Major David P Sabido also in Guipos, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish – Guipos and Our Lady of Triumph Institute of Technology – Tugas Balangasan in Pagadian City.
